The Amazon Rainforest is one of the world's largest and diverse habitats. It houses 40% of the world's tropical forest area and contains 10% of all the world's species. Unfortunately, human activity has caused significant damage to the Amazon ecosystem, destroying wildlife habitats and putting many animals at the risk of extinction. Food chain and ecosystem processes would collapse as a result, in turn forever changing what we would know as Mother Nature.
